I’m Jade Tripp, your go-to expert in women’s self-defense and firearms. Today, I’m here to share with you some essential firearm range drills that every shooter should know in order to master their accuracy and become a confident and proficient shooter.

The 6-3-1 Drill: This drill is all about precision and speed. Start by placing three targets at 6 feet, 3 feet, and 1 foot away from you. Draw your firearm and focus on hitting each target as quickly and accurately as possible. This drill will help you improve your target acquisition and accuracy under pressure.

The Mozambique Drill: This drill, also known as the Failure Drill, is designed to teach you how to handle a threat effectively. Start by placing a target at 7 yards away. Fire two shots to the center of the target (Center mass), and then one shot to the head. This drill simulates a situation where your initial shots may not stop the threat, so you need to aim for a more critical area.

The Box Drill: This drill is all about control and consistency. Set up four targets in a square formation, with each target 10 yards away from you. Fire one shot at each target in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction, then repeat in the opposite direction. This drill will test your ability to transition between targets smoothly and maintain accuracy.

The 3-2-1 Drill: This drill is great for improving your accuracy at different distances. Place targets at 3, 7, and 15 yards away from you. Start by firing three shots at the target closest to you, then two shots at the middle target, and finally one shot at the farthest target. This drill will help you fine-tune your shooting skills at varying distances.

Remember, practice makes perfect. The more you train and familiarize yourself with these drills, the more confident and skilled you will become as a shooter. Always prioritize safety and adhere to range rules while practicing these drills.
